When Making Your Own Clothes Do You Use Wholesale Fabrics?
After the cable shows that are all about sewing, everyone is starting to sew their own clothes again. The cast goes to a sewing store and buys wholesale fabrics and makes fabulous outfits. The clothes you can make for yourself can be custom made for the size that you are. Several people I know fall into a category where they are not a ten or a twelve but an eleven and these clothes are hard to find.
When I was a child there was always a sewing machine in the house. I had Home Economics for two years in Junior High and I would be lost without the knowledge I gained there. I do not know why that was taken out of schools. We made a skirt one year and a pair of pants the next year. Just knowing how to hem is a plus. People now drop off their sewing at the cleaners and pay unbelievable prices just to have a skirt or a dress hemmed.
The most important reason to use wholesale fabrics is the amount of money you can save on a prom or homecoming dress. You can pick exactly the color and style without paying hundreds of dollars. Most kids in High School will wear about 8 of these dresses by the time they are a Senior.
